[Sitting on a bench nearby is a boy wearing his perpetual hat, if not his usual gentle smile. He seems to be admiring something that he's holding between two of his fingers. This scene is fleeting, though, as the camera shifts angle so you're all greeted by the cheerful face of one smiling Emolga here.

Seems like he's playing cameraman today.]

I already told you guys you shouldn't play with that.

[This time, the camera steadies after that easy voice as Emolga tilts his head in confusion at his trainer.]

Oh right, you're still not with me then.

[An obedient pokemon, Emolga flies to his trainer, who we now recognize to be Takeru the moment he lands right next to him. The digi-destined then seizes his Gear from his pokemon without a single hint of getting mad.]

Looks like you and Teddiursa plan to become cameramen someday. [A soft chuckle.] But I guess I can't blame you. This is a proud moment for everyone, don't you think?

[Emolga nods happily to which Takeru responds with a brighter smile.]

Alright! I'll make sure you guys have a delicious dinner tonight!

[And in Emolga's excitement, he jumps and steps on the off button of the Gear.]

*The camera awkwardly heads to the ground, then runs back a few paces. ...and Imogen has a Rattata on her head. Omen, her Absol has curled up next to the stump Imogen is using as a seat. They both look a bit rough for the journey.*

[Oh hey, look, Hikari's running up over to you Takeru. And she has a Pichu in her hands right now... that doesn't really look all that happy, to be quite honest.]

Takeru-kun! There you are! Sorry it took so long, but well, Pichu here wasn't really being all that cooperative.

[Still not happy. Hikari sighs, and looks down at the pokémon.]

We've been over this already. You're not strong enough to fight Gym Leaders yet, no matter how many awesome moves you've been born with.

... I swear, this is Eevee all over again.

Yeah, they're really something. [A lopsided smile.] But, um... I don't think that's what they're called.

Well, not in that literal sense, Maria. I just think they wanna be like that for how often they use my Gear.

Oh, well... I don't let them use it per se. They use it without me knowing.

[At her question, though, his lips curve up into a broader smile.]

We just defeated Bugsy. [He shows off his badge.] So I think that's worth celebrating in itself.

[He gives her a reassuring smile which just turns lopsided the moment he hears her complaints.]

Seems to me you always end up with all the eager pokemon.

Yeah, only a few days, but I played the video game as a kid! So I already know a lot about what's going on here!

[The thing about jewelry goes through Takeru's head in preference to what she said last. He knows that this world is patterned after a video game thanks to Miyako but he had never really met someone who actually played the game before.]

You- You played it? [Takeru glances at his Emolga who blinks at him before he turns to Imogen again.] Seriously?

[Emolga chuckles at Pichu's struggles which Takeru, in turn, smiles a determined smile at.]

That just goes to show that you have great potential in training them. [Yeah, Takeru fiercely believes in you, Hikari.]

.. Uu-.. [ now she's pouting a little, as if she's disappointed. ] So Maria won't be able to see their TV show after all?

Well- [He smiles to somehow reassure her.] Maybe someday? I can record them for you, if you want.

Well, it's because they're called 'pokemon'. [And not nokemon lol.]

Yeah... it was kinda huge, everyone played it.

It wasn't exactly the same. It took no time at all to get between cities. Also this place didn't exist, it didn't have as many Pokemon, they weren't as cute as in real life, you didn't ever say anything, and you got challenged by everyone that ever spotted you walking around minding your own business.

But... other than that. Why?

[Hikari couldn't help but blush at that, even as she smiled over at Takeru.]

[Pichu actually stopped his struggling for a moment, looking up at Hikari.

Before shrugging and starting to struggle again.]

Well... [Hmmm. This is really useful info to take in.] I've heard that this place was patterned from a video game from a friend but I never met anyone who played it before.

So it's like a roleplaying game if I'm not mistaken?

[His smile turns warm for her upon seeing that blush. Hnngh Hikari, why so cute? That remains for a while - because they can have these kinds of moments okay - before it becomes amused at seeing Pichu continuing to struggle.]

Tell you what, if Pichu can't get enough of his eagerness to battle, how about he fights one of my pokemon? [Emolga actually agrees to this with a nod.]

But they're called that way where I come from!
